NEWS FLASH!
Howdy Hatters & Hatettes,
I hope this finds you well.
It’s over 25 years since I first sang in public and since then I’ve spent many years performing as both a solo singer as well as singing in a band.
For the last 18 years I’ve performed as Man in the Hat – Country Rock Singer and I’ve had an absolute blast doing it. The support and following I’ve gathered over the years has been far more than I ever expected, I know it’s a cliche to say it but as someone who was never one of the cool kids growing up, I’ve found it very humbling that so many of you have chosen to spend your free time listening to me.
All things however, have a time to begin & a time to end and after much consideration I’ve decided the time is approaching for this singing cowboy to hang up his Stetson hat. For those who know me outside of gigging you’ll know that “hanging up my Stetson hat” is not meant literally, I wear them all the time even when I’m not behind a mic so
I’ll still always be Man in the Hat but the time is approaching for Man in the Hat – “Country Rock Singer” to ride off into the sunset.
I’ll still be honouring the bookings I’ve taken for the remainder of this year and the ones I’ve already taken going into the start of 2025 but I have now stopped taking any new bookings.
Fittingly my last couple of gigs will be taking place right back where this whole ride started for me 25 years ago, right here in Framlingham. Part 1 of my farewell performance will be at The Railway Inn, on 8th February.
Part 2 will be on 5th April at The Clubhouse Framlingham Sports Club & I hope many of you will be able to join me at one or even both of these.
I’ve no doubt there will be a big part of me that will miss performing for you all but I’ve had an amazing ride doing it for all these years and am now feeling it’s the right time for me to step out of the spotlight.
I’d like to say Thank you everyone who has supported me over the years.
Thank you to all the people that have booked me for their pubs, clubs & venues, it’s meant a hell of a lot.
Thanks to everyone that’s booked me for their private party’s & functions and especially their Weddings, & having faith & trust in me to provide entertainment for your special day and making me a part of it, I hope I did you proud.
Thank you to my fantastic Wife, Son, Family & Friends who’ve always supported me so much in everything I do behind the Mic, I’ll look forward to having a lot more free time to spend with you in the future and not being quite so knackered doing it after getting home at some ungodly hour of the morning from the previous night’s gig!
Thank you to everyone who’s followed, liked, supported and interacted on my social media pages, it’s boosted my profile far more than I could’ve ever imagined.
Finally thank you to everyone who’s come along and enjoyed themselves at my live gigs over the years, performing for you guys and gals really has been an honour & a pleasure and watching you singing, dancing and enjoying yourself to my music has in turn made me very happy.
Listed below are the remainder of the public gigs I have booked (private functions not included). Please ensure you like or follow their social media pages to get info on the gigs as they approach.
I know I’ll see many of you out & about in the future, be it in the street, enjoying someone else’s live music or just maybe, if you happen to be passing a Karaoke somewhere and see a big ugly bloke in a cowboy hat belting out a bit of Country-Rockin, it just might be me having a quick cheeky singing fix!
Thank you so very much for being a Hatter or Hatette, your support has been amazing,
Take care and I’ll hopefully see many of you out there in the next few months,
Leighton!
